Message similar criticisms of the car years ago as well

I find the settlement story particularly surprising, especially this statement which absolutely screams for clarification...
"While the track event participates signed waivers noting that they were aware of the inherent dangers associated with driving at high speeds on a closed course, those waivers were dependent on who was found to be negligent in the event of an incident."

How exactly did Porsche get drawn into this? There is clearly a LOT more to this story than is being revealed in these few paragraphs. Also, it basically makes any liability waiver useless. Again a lot more to this story....but yet another albatross hung on the neck of the Carerra GT's legacy/reputation. The Walker death will be huge even though it likely could have happened in a ZR-1 or any other ultra-performance car for all we know.

Another point that I wouldnt be surprised to see later down the road is the fact that some of these mid-engined super cars are actually designed for the engine compartment and rear half to detach from the passenger cabin under certain circumstances. The very reason being to prevent the entire car from being consumed in the event of a fire in such a severe crash. I seem to recall an Enzo or Aventador or similar crashing on a public road and the rear end coming to rest well down the street with the occupants walking away from the crash with relatively minor injuries almost as if seemingly miraculously, but in fact it was rather by design.

SO will there be scrutiny on Porsche and the car design as a result of this crash? basically will the argument be that the car was designed with this detach-in-crash feature that did not work properly and thus made a crash worse than it should have been at the same time as it sealed the occupants' fates?

All this of course is secondary to responsibility of the driver to not engage in ridiculously reckless behavior.

"What a curiosity our new political correctness has made of our public spaces. Let your sex tape loose on the Internet and be rewarded with your own TV show;
photograph a crucifix in a jar of urine and our museums will vie to exhibit it; occupy someone else’s property and you will be hailed by the president for your keen social conscience.
But call people who blow up, behead, and mutilate, “savage” — and polite society will find you offensive."
